Sulaiman gave the advice in Ilorin, Kwara State, shortly after collecting his permanent voter’s card and monitoring the exercise in some parts of Ilorin West, Ilorin-East and Asa Local Government Areas of the state.
The visit took him to Otte/Bala, Danialu/Gaa Akanbi, Okelele/Amule and Ihwanu polling units.
Addressing a crowd of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters at the areas he visited, the minister, who drummed up support for President Goodluck Jonathan, told the electorate to resist any attempt by politicians to buy their cards off them.
“Don’t allow them to buy our voters cards, they are our future and we must not allow anybody to buy our future and those of generations yet unborn”, he said.
The minister added: “We have had enough of oppression and slavery in the state. The days of APC and its godfather are numbered”.
He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for conducting what he called a peaceful exercise.
