National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir OlisaemekaAkamukali has claimed that Chief Great Ogboru was responsible for the crack in the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).

He stated this at the weekend while briefing journalists at Wellington Hotel in Effurun, near Warri, saying Chief Ogboru was desperate in becoming the Delta State Governor in 2015.

He said; ‘’Great Ogboru was with us in APC. We held a NEC meeting of DPP and in that meeting Late Pius  Ewherido, Hon. Austine Ogbaburon, Hon Julius Okpoko, Tony Ezeagwu, Frank Kokori, myself and very few others were there and it was agreed that DPP should merge with APC. The only person who had a different voice was Gen Jeremiah Useni that wanted to go to PDP, but majority carried the day and we drafted a letter to APC for admission which was submitted by Chief Great Ogboru and Ned Nwoko. A 12man committee that was set up on the issue was opposed by Chief Great Ogboru saying that, Late Pius Ewherido should not be in the committee and that was where their problem started”.

“Meanwhile, Chief Great Ogboru went to Tom Ikimi andTinubu that they should promise him the governorship ticket in 2015, but they told him that they are not talking about ticket, that what they want is to build a valuable opposition. So when Ogboru realised he was not going to get the governorship ticket, he started blackmailing us and saying that President Goodluck Jonathan had promised him the governorship position, that he will win the supreme court case, but was defeated by Uduaghan. Next, he went to Mimiko of Labour Party (LP), to consult with him on the governorship ticket but his people said the party is not for sale,” he continued.

According to him also; “the bottom line is that Chief Great Ogboru thinks that he is the only person qualified in the whole of Delta State to be the Governor. He thinks he is a professional candidate’’.
