Ibori dedicates victory to Uduaghan, others

Miss Erhiatake Ibori, daughter of Delta State’s former governor, Chief James Ibori, who won the state House of Assembly seat for Ethiope West constituency, has dedicated her victory to the outgoing governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the governor-elect, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and her father.

According to her, the three persons that she dedicated her victory to are her “three fathers,” who have been her mentors and political bosses.
It will be recalled that during last Saturday’s House of Assembly polls, Miss Ibori, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, won by polling 32,700 votes to her closest rival, All Progressives Congress, APC’s Edirin Ejideran’s 1,709.

Receiving her Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Miss Ibori thanked God who made her victory possible.
In a statement by her Media Assistant, Mr. Tony Eluemunor, she said: “The tremendous goodwill daddy has among the entire people of Delta State was a wind beneath my wings. When added to the support of governor-elect Okowa and Governor Uduaghan, my victory was made easier.”

“I was fortunate to have been nurtured by three highly-celebrated leaders. Together, they showed my little feet the way to follow to electoral victory. I am proud of all of you.”

Miss Ibori also heaped praises on members of her campaign team, saying most them went beyond the call of duty to ensure that victory came her way.
“To take Ethiope West to a higher level of development is my vision and my cause,” she added
