Fayemi Didn’t Donate N1.5bn To Buhari’s Campaign – Ekiti APC
The Ekiti State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed an allegation that former Governor, Kayode Fayemi, who is the Director, Policy and Research of the party’s presidential campaign organization, donated N1.5 billion to the Buhari/Osinbajo Campaign Organization, saying such allegation was the handiwork of the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the state.
A statement by APC publicity secretary in the state, Taiwo Olatubosun, said some officials of the PDP-led administration in the state have been identified as masterminds of the obnoxious and malicious SMS being syndicated on the internet and the state news media, alleging that Mr. Fayemi made the donation.
The state APC spokesman explained that the promoters of the hate propaganda were only desperate to discredit the erstwhile governor as well as the presidential candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari.
“The spurious allegation, which started as a syndicated SMS by PDP officials, was later broadcast on the state radio and television under the supervision of state officials”, Olatubosun said, stressing that the former governor never gave any donation to the campaign.
Olatubosun added that the allegation was merely a panicky response by the PDP administration to the growing popularity of the APC presidential candidate across the nation as well as the imminent change through the February 14 presidential elections.
