A social political and pressure group under
the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika North East Local Government Otu Umu Nwanne, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
pressure group has on Wednesday, 12th September, 2013, at a meeting
held at Owa Ekei, in Ika North East local government area, thrown its weight
behind, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa 2015 Delta State governorship election. The
group which spoke through its coordinator Hon. Egboigbe noted that Okowa’s
wealth of experience, track records and his down-to-earth nature has placed him
many miles away from all other aspirants from Delta North. Hon. Egboigbe
further stated that Dr. Okowa was steadfast in delivering the dividends of
Democracy to the people of Delta State and Nigeria at large, despite incessant criticism
from his rivals in the area.
The group also expressed satisfaction on
how Dr. Okowa has represented his constituency at the senate, urged all well
meaning Deltans to key into Senator Okowa’s 2015 project noting that as a
grass-root politician, he has the capacity to transform Delta State.
In their separate remarks, Hon Victgor
Nwokolo and Hon. Lawrence Oshiagbu thanked the convener, adding that if Dr.
Okowa become the governor of Delta State in 2015 he would be a blessing to
every Deltan. They thank Mr. Benjamin Okwube for his support towards Dr.
Okowa’s ambition; adding that Okowa is known to be hardworking, experienced and
a leader who does not hold grudges but believes in a united and progressive
Delta.
Speaking to newsmen after the meeting
Director of Benco Pools Limited, Mr. Benjamin Okwube, described Otu –Umu-Nwanne
as a peaceful group that is trying to ensuer that only an ordained leader in
the region, who is Dr. Okowa becomes the next governor of the state Mr. Okwube
who donated one million naira to the group urged Ika sons and daughters both at
home and abroad to be prepared to deliver Dr. Okowa as he has all it takes to
be the governor. Some of the youths who spoke to Ika Weekly correspondent,
prayed God to replenish Mr. Okwube for using his hard earn money to support the
group and Dr. Okowa’s ambition.
